Join us for the annual Charleston James Island Connector Run! The race route starts and finishes on Bennett St. close to Ashley Ave. This is the ONLY point-to-point 5k in the state, and if you want a personal record, it’s a FAST course.
Biathlon participants will begin along with all other bikers at the start line at the corner of Bennett Street and Ashley Ave. for the 8:30 a.m. start. Participants will go West on Bennett street., turn right on Gadsden St. and left on Calhoun St. toward the connector. They will continue over the connector towards the Folly Road exit. Just past the Harbor View Road exit they will bear left and continue towards Folly Rd. until they turn left after the median ends, circle back on the connector toward downtown Charleston. They will exit Calhoun on Gadsden St. then take a left on Bennett. At the corner of Bennett St. and Ashley Ave. where they will go thru the finish line and walk their bikes to the transition area where they will park their bikes in an enclosed protected bike rack area then proceed north on Ashley Ave. take a left on Halsey St. then a right on Gadsden to Calhoun St. where they will go left over the connector. They will complete the 5k at the end of the connector where they will bear right toward the 5k finish line. Buses will be stationed at the 5k finish to transport the finishers back to Canon park for the after party festivities which includes live music, food, beer and a climbing wall.
